Do you write, paint, draw or engage in any creativity? Do you cook, decorate or love to do new things? If you do,then you are using imagination.
If you watch your mind, you'll find out that, you are consistently using your imagination in various ways. You use it (imagination) while thinking about the past or future, planning, describing things, when you read, to mention a few.
There are some people who believe that, they don't have imagination.
Trust me or not, it might be weak but they actually process it always.
When you worry or feel fear for instance, you process it (imagination). At such times, you visualize sadness and unfortunate situations of which by keep visualising negative mental images, you may attract them into your life as Budha puts it that, the mind is everything, you become what you think.
Are you able to decide over what thoughts to think and which ones to reject?
What about other people's thoughts and ideas you receive from various or different sources like social media? Do they occupy your attention?
Most of us ain't aware of the thoughts that pass through our minds.
That, the mind sometimes acts like a small child, who accepts and takes for granted, whatever it sees or hears without considering the consequences. If you allow your mind behave in this manner, you lose your freedom.
We're constantly flooded with thought, information and ideas from various sources.
They penetrate the mind and affect our actions and state of mind whether we're aware of this situation or not.
The flow of thoughts affect our behaviours and reactions as Fredrich Wilhem puts it that, a thought even a possibility can shelter and transform us. It (the flow of thoughts) influences the way we think, our preferences, likes and dislikes.
As a matter of fact, if you don't filter the thoughts that enter your mind, you stop being free as Santos Kalwar said, we're addicted to our thoughts, we can't change anything if we can't change our thinking.
You may object and say that, the thoughts that, the thoughts that pass through your mind are yours but are they? Have you ever created each thought that entered your mind?
To tell you the truth, if you leave your mind open to every thought, you put your life in other people's hands and act like in their accordance without realizing it as Haruki Murukami puts it that, if you read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.
To cut things short, changing thoughts and images (imagination) in your mind is similar to inserting a new disc into a video player.
It's okay to disagree with thoughts or opinions expressed by other people.
That doesn't give you the right to deny any sense they might make nor does it give you a right to accuse someone of poorly expressing their beliefs just because you don't like what they're saying.
Learn to recognize good writing when you read it, even if it means overcoming your mind beyond what is comfort as Roy T Bernat puts it that, start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.
