Hiking Day at Uluguru Mountains: A lot of reasons to conserve

Nestled in the heart of Tanzania, the Uluguru Mountains stand tall and proud, beckoning adventurers with their lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking panoramic views. As an avid nature enthusiast, I embarked on a hiking day at Uluguru Mountains, seeking solace from the bustling city life and an opportunity to reconnect with the pristine beauty of the natural world.    It was not a first time, and surely it will not be a last time. BUT, little did I know that this expedition would prove to be a transformative journey, both physically and spiritually.       The Ascent Begins With my backpack packed and a heart full of anticipation, I set foot on the trailhead around 10am. The air was crisp, and the sweet aroma of the surrounding vegetation infused my senses, drew my attention, that, it was time, time to get far and reconnect with the most beautiful and tiresome activity that am attracted to, accompanied by an experienced guide, not in such, but t...

Tanzania - The Unfading Beauty

The United Republic of Tanzania is a peaceful East African  country. Tanzanians are so friendly and welcoming, despite the  cultural  diversity, the people of Tanzania are all united under the Swahili language. Phrases like “Hakuna Matata”, “Asante Sana”, “Karibu Sana” and “Safari  Njema” are most likely common in the country. The most common phrase right  now is “Hapa Kazi Tu” meaning “surely here, it’s just work” which is  the Motto for the current president of Tanzania Hon. Dr John Pombe  Magufuli. Tanzania is known for its Safari Adventures, the Serengeti National Park filled with beautiful scenery and incredible  wilderness. It is one among the places in Africa where the ‘’big five animals” can be found. The Lion (Simba) also known as the “King of the Jungle’’, Elephant (Tembo), Leopard (Chui), Buffalo (Nyati) and Rhinoceros (Kifaru). The Ngorongoro crater (A Natural Wonder of the World) is also found in Tanzania. The crater is 610 meters dee...

An activist is a person who sees a social or political wrong and takes efforts to make it right. From Helen, My name is Hellen Mpuya Luchagula, a student at Mzumbe University of Morogoro, pursuing an undergraduate Law degree (legum baccalaureus; LLB).  Whenever I close my eyes, before falling asleep, I picture myself laying on a beautiful natural grass, surrounded by a variety of tall trees in a forest, a smooth wind whizzing past my skin bringing me a sweet chill, the birds singing and a stream of fresh clean water flowing peacefully in its channel. I have lived to love nature and en...

Basically volunteering is the process whereby it involves person doing something especially helping other people, serving community willingly and without being forced or paid to do it but the big expectation is to learn more, networking, get skills, knowledge and experience within the community.
