The Incident that lives in my life! - Sangúdi Sangúdi

It was on Thursday, the 7th day of February 2011, early in the morning, I had already taken my breakfast, ready to go to school. I was surprised to notice that my grandfather,   Mr Sang'udi James was already awake because it was unusual for him to be an early bird! Not a deal though, I greeted him and told him that I was ready to take my morning walk to school. He looked at me with his gentle eyes, I could tell the worry on his face! _"Study hard my grandson" he finally opened his lips, giving out a weak but yet audible voice with strong and extremely powerful words echoing in the walls of my mind up to this moment.   I was in the seventh grade at Bariadi Primary School where it was mandatory to be at school compounds early enough to be given a number, to avoid confrontations with the teacher on duty. I was a running warrior, and so being at school on time was in no way to be a problem to my fast moving legs! After three sessions,   it was a lunch break and theref...

Males Engagement in Creating a Gender Equal World!

Why Boys and Men Engagement is Important in Achieving a Gender Equal World. By: Jennifer Kayombo (SRHR and Gender Activist from Tanzania) For our dream of having an egalitarian society to become a reality, boys and men engagement remains critical and at the center of the realization. A more sustainable social, political and economic progress will only be attained if everyone - male or female will be involved. We need to take everyone on board because there is a role for each one of us and dismantling patriarchy needs our consolidated efforts. Some of the conducts in a male-dominated society have made some of female counterparts becoming even more patriarchal than male themselves. Whilst that happens; girls and women remain at greater disadvantages as revealed by the report of the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) titled as ‘ The State of World Population – 2020.’  The report state that there are estimated 33,000 cases of Child Marriage which happens every day across the world...

People and Technology

For the long time that I have been experiencing the change in all aspects of life even cultural, I also experience the change of technology time to time. Actually technology has been advancing to simplify activities done in the world. Do people change with the technology changes or we all somewhere observing technological changes but we never change? More than 3 billion people around the world using social media every month. Social media has taken the large part to influence people move with the technology, since it started, it has been a essential piece of our business marketing strategy, connect people with their customers. It allows people to reach others logically, regionally, nationally and even internationally. For social media having many users, does it mean people move with technology in other areas too? Technology has been introduced in many sectors, but do people apply them too? Do they have influence as social media has to people? Technology is an assemblage of practices and...

The Journey Is Never Smooth!

By DAVID J MUHUNZI, In 2018, when I joined Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, I saw some students trying every opportunity that came on their way to get money, some in online marketing and others in betting companies. I was not surprised with my observation because I knew that everyone is eager to get money, to be financially free and achieve financial liberation. I must be honest with one thing here, I also want to achieve financial liberation; the ability to efficiently and sustainably handle my demanding financial needs and life expenses. We are currently exposed to life of very high standards, due to globalization, and everyone wishes to get there, but wait, is it an overnight event? I don't think so. Financial liberation is, for the matter of fact, a process which needs determination, hard-work and above all, patience, and can not be achieved overnight unlike what some people think it is. It is not a crime to hope that one day we will be financially free, or w...

How can i create a reading behaviour

Are you getting any hardship to start a reading behaviour? Here are the tips close to you,  Set times . You should have a few set times during every day when you’ll read for at least 5-10 minutes. These are times that you will read no matter what — triggers that happen each day. For example, make it a habit to read during breakfast and lunch (and even dinner if you eat alone). And if you also read every time you’re sitting on the can, and when you go to bed, you now have four times a day when you read for 10 minutes each — or 40 minutes a day. That’s a great start, and by itself would be an excellent daily reading habit. But there’s more you can do. Always carry a book . Wherever you go, take a book with you. When I leave the house, I always make sure to have my drivers license, my keys and my book, at a minimum. The book stays with me in the car, and I take it into the office and to appointments and pretty much everywhere I go, unless I know I definitely won’t be reading (like at ...
